Parent information session: Understanding the upcoming social media ban

As the upcoming Social Media Ban approaches, many families are asking what this change will mean for their children, their learning and their wellbeing. To support our community, we are delighted to welcome Paris McNeil, keynote speaker, workshop facilitator, lawyer and advocate for young people, to present a dedicated parent session.

This session will:

• Explain what the ban involves and how it will impact families
• Offer strategies to help parents support their child’s transition offline
• Provide practical tools and resources to encourage healthy technology habits at home

• Students are anxious: Many are unsure what is happening, why it matters and how it will affect them
• Schools will feel the fallout: Without parental support, students may struggle emotionally and socially, impacting both their learning and wellbeing
• Parents are in the dark: Most are unaware of the ban or how to navigate the changes with their children
